MACH 225 Manufacturing Capstone

This course provides students with the opportunity to apply their skills in a collaborative, team-based environment. Following industry guidelines, students will work in teams to complete real-world manufacturing projects under instructor supervision.

Course Objectives

  1. Apply manufacturing practices learned in the program to complete assigned project tasks safely and efficiently.
  2. Develop detailed job process plans that outline process steps, responsibilities, needed materials and tools, as well as timelines for team‑based manufacturing projects.
  3. Collaborate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks, solve problems, and maintain productive project communication.
  4. Operate manufacturing tools, machines, and software to produce components that meet project specifications and quality standards.
  5. Evaluate finished products by using inspection techniques learned in the program, identifying areas for improvement, and suggesting changes to improve processes and results.
  6. Summarize and document project processes, decisions, and results using professional written and visual communication strategies.
  7. Evaluate project outcomes by inspecting finished products and identifying areas for improvement based on industry criteria.
