DANC 212 Dance Repertory II

Students will apply technique learned in other dance courses in rehearsal and performance in this continuation of DANC 112. Successful students will gain experience in approaching rehearsal and performance in a professional manner, including: learning and retaining various choreographic material, learning and practicing proper rehearsal demeanor and effort, learning and becoming proficient in performance skills, and following appropriate concert etiquette. An audition is required. The culmination of this course is a public dance performance. Permission of Dance Coordinator is required.

Course Objectives

  1. Apply work in the highest technical and expressive ability to rehearsals and performances.
  2. Demonstrate positive, functional, and effective working attitudes and habits in the
    choreographic, rehearsal, and performance process.
  3. Demonstrate professional standards of behavior and dedication.
  4. Demonstrate critical thinking by understanding, appreciating, and interpreting the differences
    of dance artists and choreographers and their individual repertory and movement style.
  5. Collaborate and communicate with individuals, small groups, and large groups as a member of
    an artistic project/performance.
