ENTE 200 Entertainment Technology Drafting

This course provides students with a basic knowledge of computer drafting for entertainment technology, event design, and other performative experiences, using an industry-standard application (i.e. Vectorworks). Students will learn drafting standards for entertainment events, and the means to create accurate, measured drawings. Topics include geometry, line weights, scale, event/theatrical drafting conventions and symbols, ground plan drawings, elevation drawings, section drawings, dimensioning, page layout, and printing.

Course Objectives

  1. Understand basic drafting concepts.
  2. Utilize basic skills in 2D and 3D drafting software to generate technical drawings for entertainment events.
  3. Identify and utilize the appropriate technology to create drawings for entertainment technology and performative event applications.
  4. Organize drawing files with industry standard conventions and best practice considerations for improved file management and successful collaboration with other design professionals.
  5. Utilize both imported file formats and field-collected site data to create base plans.
