SABR 201 Study Abroad
This course is offered in conjunction with HCC Study Abroad programs and provides a framework for academic study in international contexts. Through pre-departure orientation activities, in-country immersion experiences, and individual and group reflection, students will master concepts and strategies for international and intercultural work, study, and interaction. Enrollment in SABR 201 is available only to students who have previously enrolled in SABR 200.
Course Objectives
- Explain how cultural factors shape values and beliefs in the host country, and compare and contrast these factors with those in one’s home culture.
- Interact effectively and respectfully across social and cultural boundaries.
- Apply the academic and intercultural learning undertaken during the Study Abroad program to one’s own program of academic study and/or chosen career field.
