BIOL 111 General Biology for Health Professions

This course provides a foundation in basic principles of Biology and is specifically designed for health science majors who will require additional Biology courses such as Anatomy and Physiology. Topics include characteristics of living organisms, basic chemistry, organic chemistry, cellular structure, metabolism, DNA, Genetics, and molecular biology. In the laboratory, students will learn basic techniques, the use of instruments in biology from basic microscopy to DNA fingerprinting, and perform animal dissections.
