PUBH 250 Public Health Internship

The public health internship provides the opportunity for students to obtain work experience in a public health agency in coordination with a faculty member. The goal of the internship is to develop practical and professional skills in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of programs designed to enhance the health of the population. Students will apply their knowledge of the essential public health services and functions in a professional setting.

  1. 1. Describe the function of public health agencies in the community setting.
  2. 2. Apply theoretical and practical skills of the public health profession.
  3. 3. Analyze the role of the public health professional in agency activities.
  4. 4. Describe administration, program activities, and problems relevant to public health agencies.
  5. 5. Apply concepts of public health strategies including planning, implementing, administering,
    and/or evaluating a public health program.
