FIRE 220 Inspector I

This course will provide students with the knowledge and skill needed to compute the occupant load of a multi-use building, identify the occupancy classification of mixed-used buildings, classify the type of construction in new buildings, analyze the egress elements of a building or portion of a building, evaluate hazardous conditions, evaluate emergency planning and preparedness procedures, verify fire flows for a site, and verify code compliance.

  1. 1. Prepare reports on fire safety issues using the proper codes and standards.
  2. 2. Apply knowledge of various codes to address deficiencies noted during a site visit.
  3. 3. Develop a checklist to complete fire safety inspections.
  4. 4. Deliver a legal deposition given the findings of an inspection, plan review, or complaint.
