HIST-209 History of the Middle East
Students will be able to describe the historical development of the Near East from the earliest major civilizations through the twentieth century. This will include the spread of the Roman Empire and Christianity, the rise and spread of Islam, the impact of the Ottoman Empire, the division of the 'Middle East' following World War I, and current religious, political, and international challenges of the area.
