CRIM 190 Criminal Justice Internship I
This course is a is a cooperative education experience working in collaboration with the Center for Civic and Community Engagement, the Criminal Justice program at HCC, Beyond Rhetoric; a community based non-profit organization and the Department of Juvenile Service. Prior approval is required before registering for this course. Students granted permission to enroll in this internship will be working in a facility (location TBA) within the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS). As a condition for participation, students must be at least 18 years of age, complete security clearance and an online orientation with DJS. Selected students are required to work between 10 and 40 hours a week for a 10- or 15-week period, attend seven 80-minute seminars during the semester, achieve specific learning objectives, and submit reports to a faculty co-op advisor. Prerequisite
