URSC 202 Undergraduate Research Experience II

Students will work in teams under the direction of a faculty research mentor to engage in academic research. Students will understand the context of the research project and use relevant techniques needed for data acquisition and analysis. Students will observe ethical practices in research and use a lab notebook to document data collection and analysis.

Course Objectives

  1. Actively engage in a research project while adhering to an ethical standard for research.
  2. Utilize resources, including data bases, to find and analyze resource material.
  3. Employ relevant techniques for data acquisition and analysis and document research using a lab notebook or other tools.
  4. Construct an abstract demonstrating the context of the research project.
  5. Describe the research objectives for a project, discuss research methods and report research progress effectively in oral and written forms.
