Course Objectives

  1. Perform intermediate repertoire for the respective instrument or voice as outlined in the Music Student Handbook.
  2. Perform a mandatory jury examination for the instructor and a panel of music instructors in which the following is demonstrated at the appropriate college level: excellent tone, phrasing, rhythm, stylistic understanding, intonation, and musical sensitivity.
  3. Demonstrate an intermediate level of technical proficiency in the performance of scales, etudes, or other exercises as outlined in the Music Student Handbook.
  4. Recognize the ethical concerns relating to a specific issue or issues in the music world.
  5. Identify one’s core belief(s) in relation to an ethical issue or issues in the music world.
  6. Apply alternative ethical perspectives to one’s own, in relation to an ethical issue or issues in the music world.
