HEED 116 Fundamentals of Spiritual Awareness
This practical course will provide students tools to understand spirituality and its significance. Major topics include the nature of spirituality and religion, the nature of mysticism, major world figures who contributed to spirituality and religion, human consciousness, energy phenomena, spiritual practices and techniques, reincarnation and karma, and death and dying. At completion of the course, students should know how to use specific techniques to enhance spiritual awareness, and these techniques may help students experience life with less stress, greater confidence, peace, and happiness.

- Identify and discuss several persons who contributed significantly to the world of spirituality and religion.

- Investigate energy phenomena - including the aura, energy centers, and the chakras.
- Explain and explore affirmations, prayer, meditation, and visualization.
