ENGT 101 Introduction to Additive Manufacturing
This course is an introduction to additive manufacturing from an engineering technology perspective. This is the first course in the additive manufacturing certificate program, providing a broad framework of knowledge for further studies. Students will study the history, processes, equipment, industrial and commercial uses, and current trends in additive manufacturing technology.

- Summarize the historical development of additive manufacturing technology.
- List the most commonly used additive manufacturing processes.
- Explain the theory of operation of major classes of manufacturing equipment.
- Identify the industries and professions most impacted by modern advancements in additive manufacturing.
- Describe the varied applications of additive manufacturing in business, from rapid prototyping to full-scale production.
- Select and operate additive manufacturing equipment suited for a particular manufactured component and application.
- Communicate and collaborate through technology-mediated tools to document and present technical information.
