CMSY 110 Computer Concepts, Applications, and Ethical Considerations
This course will provide the necessary knowledge to successfully and ethically function in today's technological world. After successful completion of this course, students will be able to identify basic computer concepts, maintain appropriate file management, and apply and integrate skills in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphic software. Prior internet research skills and keyboarding skills are strongly recommended.

Course Objectives
- Demonstrate the ability to learn, communicate effectively, collaborate, and problem-solve computer
technology related tasks and projects using appropriate technology and terminology to analyze,
evaluate, access, process, and present information that communicates solutions in multiple formats
to a diverse audience.
- Differentiate terminology and apply concepts in major productivity software using appropriate
symbols and vocabulary. - Recognize ethical concerns relating to the use of system and application programs while using these programs to solve tasks.
- Acquire and integrate technology skills in an emerging technology environment.
- Identify one's core beliefs in relation to the ethical issues arising from the use of system and application programs, and then apply alternative ethical perspectives to one's own in considering these same issues.
