CADD 208 Intermediate Geographical Information Systems (GIS) - GIS Analyst
This course introduces students to the analytical applications of GIS. Students will be using analytics tools found in both commercial (ERSI ArcGIS) and open source (QGIS) software. The student will receive "hands-on" training and will develop the techniques that are essential in today's job market. The course will also prepare students to perform GIS services in a stimulated work environment maintaining GIS feature data and focuses on the automation of data workflow, editing processes, coordinate system reconciliation and the creation and maintenance of metadata.

2 hours lecture, 2 hours lab

- Demonstrate GIS skills using visualization, animation, web-based server, and scripting processes.
- Design a GIS project from proposal to completion, and evaluate the appropriateness of methods for use for the project.
