HUMN 106 Humanities through the Arts

Previously FINE 101. In this course, the humanities are approached through an interdisciplinary study of form and meaning in nine major art forms: film, theatre, music, dance, painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, and art in literature. Through study of enduring and contemporary issues of aesthetics, creativity, humanism, and invention, students are challenged to develop perceptual awareness and aesthetic sensitivity as well as a foundation for a life-long relationship with the arts regardless of his/her major field of study.
