The subjects for the paintings will be the traditional flora and fauna typical of this art form. The techniques include the use of bamboo brushes; the creation of ink washes in five gradations, the use of Chinese liquid transparent and opaque colors, and working on absorbent rice paper. Overall, students will express themselves in a Chinese form of art, learn a new artistic medium, and see the relationship to western principles and techniques.
