MUSC-135 Fundamentals of Musicianship and Keyboard Skills

This class is designed to develop students' ability to match pitch, sing intervals, sing pitches of scales and chords, sight-sing simple written melodies with solfege syllables, perform simple rhythmic patterns, and take simple dictation. It is also designed to introduce students to basic keyboard skills including developing a comfortable hand position and ease of hand movement on the keyboards. This course is designed for music major students with little or no musical backgrounds, and it will prepare students for lab work in MUSC-110L.
