HIST-211 East Asian Civ. -China, Japan, Korea

This study of East Asian history will focus on the interaction of China with Japan, Korea, and the West. It will enable students to gain a perspective from an Asian point of view rather than a western one. Students will concentrate on events in the 18th, 19th, and 20th Centuries. At the end of the course, they will be able to describe major political, economic, social, and intellectual developments in the Pacific region.
