AUTO 210 Driver Assistance Systems

This course focuses on the diagnosis, repair, and calibration of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in modern automobiles and light trucks. Students will develop hands-on skills with the full range driver-assist technologies, including their operation, service procedures, and system integration. This course maps the ASE L4 certification.

Course Objectives

  1. Diagnose driver assistance system faults by analyzing symptoms, retrieving diagnostic trouble codes, and evaluating system data.
  2. Service and replace driver assistance system sensors and modules, including radar, camera, lidar, and ultrasonic components.
  3. Perform required calibration and setup procedures for driver assistance systems following repair, replacement, or vehicle alignment changes.
  4. Interpret manufacturer service information, calibration requirements, and environmental conditions necessary for accurate system operation.
  5. Analyze vehicle network communication related to driver assistance systems to identify data conflicts or communication faults.
  6. Apply safety procedures, documentation standards, and functional verification practices when returning driver assistance systems to service.
