Course Objectives

  1. Diagnose and repair steering system concerns, including conventional, rack-and-pinion, and electronically assisted systems, using manufacturer-approved diagnostic and repair procedures.
  2. Inspect, test, and service suspension system components, including springs, shocks, struts, brushings, ball joints, and control arms, to ensure proper ride quality, handling, and safety.
  3. Diagnose and repair steering linkage and suspension geometry issues, including excessive play, binding, or noise, and verify proper operation through testing and inspection.
  4. Perform four-wheel alignment procedures, including camber, caster, toe, thrust angle, and ride height adjustments, to manufacturer specifications using alignment equipment and measuring tools.
  5. Diagnose and service wheel bearings, hubs, and tire/wheel assemblies, including inspection for wear, balance, and runout conditions.
  6. Inspect and repair electronic suspension and steering control systems, including variable assist, ride control, and height control systems, using appropriate scan tools and test equipment.
