AUTO 110 Engine Performance Systems
This course examines all major aspects of vehicle engine performance, including general engine diagnosis, ignition system diagnosis and repair, fuel system service, air-induction and exhaust system diagnosis, and emission-control system troubleshooting. Students will also study computerized engine-control systems, including On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD II), and learn industry-standard diagnostic and repair procedures. This course aligns with the ASE A8 - Engine Performance certification.
Hours Weekly
2 hours lecture, 4 hours lab
Course Objectives
- Explain the operation of engine performance systems, including ignition, fuel delivery, air induction, exhaust, emission controls, and computerized engine management.
