AVMP 150 Introduction to Electronic Media

Previously TVRD 129 and TVRD 220. This course examines film and electronic media from the perspective of the modern media professional. Students will explore and discuss electronic media’s ties to technology, aesthetics, and culture, throughout history and into the future.

  1. 1. Understand how electronic media and film in America are socially, historically, technically, politically, legally, and economically significant.
  2. 2. Demonstrate critical thinking in relation to electronic films and media by forming and expressing opinions and criticisms of issues in contemporary media.
  3. 3. Discuss the significance of current issues and research in a variety of electronic media and film areas.
  4. Discuss copyright law and ethics in electronic media.
